I'm reading

Wednesdays are dog days

Dogs that are well behaved and registered in their municipality are welcome to visit the Reykjavik Park and Zoo on Wednesdays. The dogs must have the tag of their municipality on their collar. They must also be healthy, de-wormed, fully vaccinated and on a short leash. People bringing dogs to the zoo are asked to be aware of their surroundings.  Please remove the dogs from situations that are stressful for their dogs as well as other people, dogs or animals. The animals at the zoo are not all equally excited to meet canine companions and for that reasons they are not allowed inside the animal houses. Our sheep and goats are expecting lambs and kids in the next few days, so it is important that we provide a calm environment. Registering your dog in the city of Reykjavik is easy, and can be done on the website www.island.is. The Reykavik Animal Services encourage all dog owners in Reykjavik to do so.
