The ewe Flekka gave birth around the same time as erupt started northeast of Sýlingafell at noon today, May 29. The two lambs, one ewe and one ram, are doing well under the watchful eyes of their mother. A total of 9 lambs from four ewes and the father of them all is the ram Jökull. The names of the youngest lambs have not been chosen, but the writer thinks the names Gosi and Aska are appropriate. Icelandic word for erupt is "gos" and Aska means ash.
Sheep and goats are starting to go out to pasture during the day, but it had to happen in steps, because sudden feed change can be harmful for animals. Day by day, however, the time they are grazing increases, but all the farm animals are housed during the night to make the most of the grazing.
