The doe Lilja gave birth early this year, but on February 11th a healthy billy came into the world. The father is our buck Ýmir. Normally, zoo staff say that spring is in the air when the goats give birth but that is likely not the case now.
Goats usually give birth in the beginning of April and Lilja was born on April 1st 2022, making this her first time being a mother. Thanks to our followers, his name has been decided. Since he was born in late winter he will be called “Þorri” in the name of the corresponding time of year in Iceland´s historical calendar.
